Purpose
This document outlines the procedure for the identification and management of legal & statutory requirements related to Environmental, Health and Safety management.
This procedure ensures that Site complies with EHS related requirements that are applicable to its activities, products and services.
Scope
EHS Committee | Overall responsibility for the operation of this procedure, and is to ensure that: · Subscriptions are maintained · Information is circulated to relevant personnel. · Employees at all levels of the organisation are kept informed of changes to relevant regulation and made aware of their legal obligations. · Draft regulation is reviewed and the impact on Site’s activities is assessed and reported to senior management. · A legal register is established and maintained. · Information from industry associations is assessed and actioned where appropriate. |

1. Responsibility – EHS Committee
1.1. Monitoring of EHS legal requirements
1.1.1. Subscriptions to legal update services and journals are in place and are renewed on an annual basis.
1.1.2. Other information sources such as Government Internet sites are visited periodically to review content.
1.2. Circulation of information
1.2.1. Relevant information is identified and circulated to appropriate personnel.
1.3. Employee awareness
1.3.1. Training programmes (including Induction) are developed to ensure employees are made aware of their legal obligations.
1.3.2. A EHS Legal register is made available to everyone in the workplace.
1.4. Legal Register
1.4.1. A list of laws, regulations, licenses, permits, codes of practice, codes of conduct and local and international standards that apply to Site’s EHS activities is maintained though appropriate policies, procedures, records and training as well as documented in the register.
